Hostgator Reseller Web Hosting Reviewed

Filed under: HostGator Web Hosting, Web Hosting

This post is in regards to host gator resller program reviews.

If you’re new to web hosting, you’re probably not exactly sure what reseller web hosting indicates. A web hosting reseller account is a form of web hosting that gives you a certain amount of disc space and bandwidth, and allows you, in turn, to sell those features to other people looking for cheap web hosting services. Alternatively, you can use the entire allotment for yourself.

In this review, we will dissect the Hostgator reseller program, as it seems to be one of the more popular options currently, as well evaluate if it may be the best reseller web hosting program out there.

First, there are 5 main web hosting reseller plans to choose from, starting at $25 a month and going up to $99 a month. The difference has entirely to do with the amount of disc space and bandwidth that comes with the plan. Every single feature that is otherwise available with the most expensive plan is also available with the cheapest plan, which is extremely nice. Here is a screenshot of the plans, so you can see for yourself:

You just can’t go wrong with the $25 a month plan. By comparison, yahoo web hosting charges almost $20 a month for a regular old shared plan, which doesn’t even give you as much space. The hostgator Aluminum option is really a very cheap reseller web hosting plan, and even comparatively speaking, one of the cheapest web hosting plans in general for what you get.

And I haven’t even gotten to the best part yet - there’s NO CONTRACT!! What, you say? No contract? Even the Hostgator shared hosting

has a contract. Check it out:

That’s probably gotta be the best part of the plan. If you decide you don’t like it, you can get out any time you want!

It’s never all roses and sunshine with any business transaction, especially purchasing web hosting plans. But after doing a google search, I can’t really find anything negative about Hostgator reseller hosting. The only negative thing I can see is the expense - the total yearly cost is $300. So your sites better be worth that much, or you’d better be able to sell at least that much in web hosting plans so you break even. Secondly, I don’t think it’s a window 2000 web hosting reseller. Also, they have several restrictions as to what kind of site you can have. See below:

In summary…

The Cheapest Plan

-$25/month
-24 GB of disc space
-250 GB of bandwidth

The Good

-lots of space for your own web hosting, which you can also use to make money online
-all technical issues go to Hostgator, not you - nice!
-great value for the product
-NO CONTRACT!!

The Dirt

-$300 for the year, requires that you can make at least that much from your sites/reselling the plans
-limitations on what kind of sites you can have on there

All in all, this is really of the best options out there for reseller plans. Not very dirt on Hostgator, and no surprises: you know what you’re getting upfront. If you’re looking for an affordable reseller web hosting plan, I think that you won’t go wrong by going with Hostgator resller web hosting program.
